Lack of response from Customer Service

I'm disappointed that I had to post an additional item on the prestoplace forum; was hoping I could resolve with presto's customer service team. My parents machine died in late July, presto sent a new power cord (which I have told customer service did not fix the problem), and I have not received a reply to several emails asking for next steps to address the issue. In the meantime, I continue to pay for the service without the ability to use the machine. I attempted to use the CEO's direct email address that was listed in another forum to no avail. Disappointed is about all I can muster at this point - I get no response from customer service, and I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do next, short of shelling out another $120 for a new machine (which was, interestingly, the first suggestion Presto offered when I called the customer service department). Any suggested remedies from other forum members would be greatly appreciated.

Printer has died!

Started Presto service for my dad in the summer of '07; he loved it but about 6 months ago, the printer died. He lost phone service and called the local phone company for repair; a +$100 service call later, the service tech determined the printer was killing the phone line. I was not able to go see him until recently, and sure enough, as soon as I connect the printer to the phone line and plug in the AC adapter, the printer creates an "off the hook" condition on the phone line! Has anyone seen this before? On the back of the printer, I removed a small panel covering a USB jack; can the software be re-loded into the printer?

Kudos to Customer Service

I believe in complaining when something is not handled well, but today I want to say a really big "Thank you" to Presto Customer Service, and to Tyler in particular. A year ago I installed the Presto Printer in my 83 year old mother's assisted living apartment. It has made a world of difference in her life. She loves receiving the pictures and emails and I truly feel it has helped her significantly in her memory disorder - our nice word for Alzheimer's. I have not had a single problem with the printer or the service during this time and I was a huge fan! A week ago I realized her ink was low, thanks to a message to her Presto account. I put in a new cartridge, but a day or two later I realized her messages still were not printing - thanks to the new account feature confirming whether emails are sent or not. Today I brought over another new ink cartridge thinking that maybe that would resolve the problem. Unfortunately, another cartridge did not change the situation and I could not get the printer to dial out correctly. Dreading the thought, I called Customer Service. Tyler quickly...

Can PDF Files and/or Pictures Print in Total As Only One Page ?

My 92 year old mother loves the "Presto Printing Mail Box" I bought for her last Christmas. Her friends after seeing it, liked it so much , they went out and bought one themselves so their own adult children living all over the world could send them e-mails. However , there is one issue I wish could be improved upon, and that is when you attach a picture, or embed an image , it prints out on a seperate page from that of the text message even if the message is very short. In an attempt to work around this issue, I've tried writing the e-mails sent to my mother's Printing Mailbox as a "word" documnet , and embedding the photos or images in the text of the word docment where I want the photo or image to appear, then saving this as a "PDF" file, and then finally attaching this to the e-mail sent to the Printing Mailbox , but when it prints out, the first page is blank , except for the subject line, and the second page then prints as the complete PDF document. This seems rather archaic for as nice of an inverntion as the Printing...

This problem presented itself when friends were complaining that they were being sent straight to voice mail a lot when trying to call my mother. I did some troubleshooting and found that after the printers 6AM call the phone line would behave as if a a phone had been left off the hook. Simply picking up a phone somewhere in the house and hanging it back up would clear the off hook condition. What can be done to fix this? My mother has phone service through the local cable company and they have been out to verify their equipment and the phone lines in the house are healthy. Thank you.

Why are there duplicate pictures being printed?

Help! I have written Presto several times with this question, so I am hoping you all can help me!! We purchased a Presto machine for my husband's parents who live in another state, in June. The hookup and connection went smoothly, but the problem is that when I send them e-mail, we ususally add several pictures right into our e-mail. Then when they get it, they have always received duplicates....one tiny, tiny photo on some of the pages, and then one the size that we are sending??? There seems to be no rhyme or or reason to it, because it is not in any particular order. I can see this happening on the preview each time, and have tried to send different ways & sizes, but nothing works! I might send like 8 pictures, but they receive like 16-20 pages, because some pages print a tiny one, then a another tiny one, then a 4 x 6, and so on. I am completely confused, but it's such a waste of ink & paper & I know they love the pictures of the grandkids/great grandkids but it's frustrating to them, as well. Any suggestions would be greatly apprectiated, since I cannot...

Presto printing mailbox - prognosis for lightning surge survival?

The area where my mother lives hasn't had a recorded lightning strike for at least 50 years -- so hey, why invest in surge protectors? Well, the dry-lightning storm that hit central California last weekend, touching off more than 800 fires, was an equal-opportunity zapper. Two forks of one bolt blasted a couple of trees in my mother's back yard. Among the appliance casualties was Mom's Presto printer, which was DOA when I arrived to inspect the house. I'm wondering if the whole unit is toast, or whether the damage would have been absorbed by, and limited to, the printer's external power supply/converter box. If so, it would be a lot cheaper to get a new power supply than to buy a new printing mailbox system. Does anyone have any insight on how an HP Printing Mailbox handles that kind of major electrostatic-discharge abuse? Thanks in advance, Jim
[Read more]

I noticed when I went to purchase the 97 HP Cartridge it stated that it has more ink Large size 14ml. Thanks for your help, Nan
[Read more]

Does the Presto print on both sides of a piece of paper? I know my parents would greatly appreciate that kind of feature.

I want to be able to use your site to order the ink for my mother's printer without having to re-enter the credit card info etc. everytime. You have her credit card # already, why can't I just click on something when I'm ready to order a new ink cartridge, you ship it to her, and charge the card # on file?
