New Platform Features: Update Your Profile And More

In our recent upgrade to our platform, we've introduced some new features, and I'd like to introduce you to how they work. Rating Content Items First, we've added the ability to rate other content on the site, such as individual forum threads. You'll also be able to see average user ratings for each content item. Go right ahead and start rating your favorite content items, and help other community members find the best stuff! Update And Personalize Your Profile Second, we've upgraded the profile screen, and added the availability of some great custom options. Here's what you'll now be able to do: Add your Twitter username Add your YouTube ID Add your Flickr account All of these will be visible when other community members view your profile. In addition, you'll also be able to select the country you live in, and your country's flag will be proudly displayed next to your avatar! Groups We've also enhanced the Groups section of the site. First, you'll now see a sidebar on the right hand side of your screen, where you can access "My Groups," the groups that you are subscribed to, with one easy click. You can also see all members in...

Important: April Site Updates and Improvements

Greetings, As many of you have seen, the PrestoPlace Community has undergone several updates and improvements over the last few months. As we continue to evolve this innovative and original approach to our community software platform, we hope you find many of the changes and enhancements enjoyable and useful. I would also like to say that as we continue to try new ideas, we really value feedback from you, our users. Not all of the changes we've made over the last year have made people do cartwheels and backflips out of pure joy, but we always have our ears perked up to hear your thoughts and make this community work exactly how you want. The vast majority of changes I'll talk about below are inspired by the feedback we've gotten, so please keep those suggestions and calls for improvements coming. So without further adieu, let's get to the updates! This time it's all about the forums and comments, and I (personally) think you'll all love what's new. Single Thread, Single Topic First the biggest change of all... After much feedback, the concept of multi-dimensional forum threads is going away, meaning that threads will no longer be multi-tagged to forum topics....

Grandkids and Presto

CALLING ALL PRESTO MAIL SENDERS! Please post your thoughts on how involved grandkids are in your Presto user's life. Do they send Presto Mail to their grandparents often…or ever? - Account managers, let me know your views below. - If you are a grandchild that sends Presto Mail, please place your thoughts below. I'm trying to better understand what part grandkids play in a) finding out about Presto in the first place, b) advocating it to their parents (for their grandparents), or c) how much they are involved in communication to grandparents in the first place.

Presto server status?

I would like to see Presto's sever status displayed somewhere. I bought one for my 77 year old mother for christmas. She really likes getting e-mail from all of us but it hasn't received a single message since yesterday at noon. It would be nice to know if this is a problem with the server or with moms presto unit. I have already been through the entire list of troublesooting steps. There have been many e-mails also sent to her so they are out there someplace. Thanks

Posting to Multiple Forums

I may be in the minority here, but I have to say that I find it really annoying the way users can post the same question to multiple forums here. In fact, it seems to be encouraged during the posting process. I find it a waste of my time to click on five different forums only to discover that it has the same last posting in every one of them. I would encourage PrestoPlace to discourage this practice or place a limit on the number of duplicate forums to post in. I suppose theoretically it boosts their numbers by making it look like an inflated number of posts, but I hope that is not what is driving this. Marie

I want to change my profile pic (the generic male one). I either want nothing or I want a generic female. :) I have no desire to put up a customized picture and otherwise I can't find an option for customizing the avatar. Marie

When I use the "Ask a Question" page, I am always prompted to register in order to submit the question... THEN it says that my eMail is already in use (because I registered when I submitted the previous question)... How do you "Ask a Question" on the Presto Help Page when you are already registered?

As an account manager, I would like to be able to see the queue of undelivered messages. A simple list of pending items (perhaps showing the subject line and the originating address) would enable me to see if the device is working, or turned off or disconnected. The ability to see the history would also enable me to be confident that there are no inappropriate messages going though (i.e.: if the recipient "lost" the "Friends Cards", and/or if someone was abusing the priviledge to send to this account.)

Greetings! I'd like to be the first to welcome you to PrestoPlace.com, our new community focused on the HP Printing Mailbox with Presto Service, as well as the people that it touches, how it changes lives, and opens up new doors of communication with relatives not previously connected with the digital age. We'd like to make your experience here as enjoyable as possible and encourage you to talk about Presto, ask and answer questions, and share your stories and experiences. To help you get started, first you need to create a free PrestoPlace Account, which you can do here . Once you're all set up, head to your PrestoPlace Profile and add a little bit about yourself and upload a photo or avatar, which helps others get to know a little about you and creates an identity that others you get to know can recognize. It's okay if you don't use a real photo of yourself if you don't want to... any picture that that you like or interests you is just fine. When you're all set creating your identity, poke around a bit. Find an article that interests you and make a comment, share your two cents on your...
