Presto Preview Feature

Hey all, I just set my mother up with a Presto printer and I've been attempting to use the preview feature by sending an email with a photo attached to username-preview@presto.com but it's not working. I've sent 2 emails using tht address and still have no received a reply. I've checked my junkmail folder and made sure that the proper email address was associated with the presto account and still nothing. I know this is a new feature and quite possibly you're having issues with it at the moment but just checking up on it. I've actually yet to confirm she's actually received my first text test email as well.

Dialing-out problem solved?

Hello, I'm quite excited at the idea of getting Presto service for my elderly parents, and plugging them into the active email activity carried on by their children and grandchildren. They do live in a retirement community where they have to dial "9" before being able to dial out. In another thread I saw that someone else had raised this issue some time ago and the Presto folks were going to look into it to see if a solution could be found. So my question is whether the solution has been found and, if so, what steps should I take to make sure that the installation and use of the Presto service goes smoothly?? Thank you for your help!

I recently purchased a Presto for my parents. They don't have a computer and they have kids and grandkids who would like to stay in touch via email. I read all about the product on Amazon and purchased it. I have been living a daily nightmare since my parents opened the box! I live too far from my parents to set this up for them, but my father is great with electronics, so I am patting myself on the back, thinking that I have found the perfect gift. Never have I been so wrong. I have been cruising the forums and looking for answers. I have called customer service (lackluster at best) and I have been beating myself against a wall for days. I found one post that explained my problem nicely, and a response from someone from Presto. In his response to the person who posted, he claimed that the FAQ clearly states that an analog phone line is required. Hmmm. I have read that FAQ. I didn't see anything about that. What it all comes down to is this: My parents (like MILLIONS of others) have digital phone service. When I called and asked for help I was...

Keith & Diane here We have been reading the forums for insight into this service. We are about a week from having our 82 year old Mother aboard. She is the sole reason we are here. If you have any information to pass along we would be most appreciative. She has NO computer skills. It is highly debatable how many family members will participate. Our incentive for hooking Mom up to the e-mail system was the fact that NEW Great Grandchildren are beginning to pop up across the country and Mom has yet to see a single photograph! If they won’t snail mail it, perhaps someone along the family tree can forward to Mom a picture circulating on via e-mail? We thought we’d give it a try.

Is there a way to temporarily suspend the service? The user we set this up for has been hospitalized, and it will be some time before she will return to her apartment. We didn't want to burn through her subscription when the service was not going to be used for a few months. Thanks in advance...

Hey everyone, I have the Presto at my elderly Father's location in another state. Due to his age and state of health, I am the administrator for his account and pretty much take care of all his affairs remotely. Unfortunately, due to the distance I have to travel, my visits to him are few and far between. Is there a way I can receive CCs of the email and daily delivery items he receives so I can discuss and help him with questions and communication issues that result from the things he receives? If not, what are the odds of this feature becoming a part of this service? Thanx - a satisfied customer.

I live in the Twin Cities (MN) and am thinking of buying a Presto system for my mother-in-law, who lives in Winona MN. I know that the system initially connects via a 1-800 number, and then locates a local number for further connections. If I have the system delivered to my house for initial setup and programming, will I have a problem retraining it to use a Winona local number after I deliver it to the final end user there?

I would like to see Presto's sever status displayed somewhere. I bought one for my 77 year old mother for christmas. She really likes getting e-mail from all of us but it hasn't received a single message since yesterday at noon. It would be nice to know if this is a problem with the server or with moms presto unit. I have already been through the entire list of troublesooting steps. There have been many e-mails also sent to her so they are out there someplace. Thanks

I just set up a Printing Mailbox in my father-in-law's apartment in a retirement home (Panorama City, Lacey, WA). If the phone stays off-hook for a long time a speaker in his apartment announces that he needs to hang up. Also the front desk watch person comes to check that he is ok. This makes it impossible to have the Printing Mailbox figure out on its own that it needs to dial a 9, wait a 2 or 3 seconds and then dial the access point number. Is there another way to tell the Printing Mailbox what it needs to do to get an outside line?

REQUEST FOR COMMUNITY FEEDBACK Now that Presto supports sending Adobe Acrobat Portable Document Format (PDF) attachments, I thought it would be a great idea to create a "PDF Idea Library" on PrestoPlace. This is a place where we would all share and store commonly available PDF documents, or creations of our own that might be helpful to others in the community. Some ideas we have had are: • Easily editable calendar format in Microsoft Word (that can be saved as a PDF after filling in) • Medication reminder form • Instructions for sending Google Map directions saved as PDF via Presto • How to create a photo montage saved as a PDF • Links to libraries of PDFs online • Brochure to help explain Presto to a friend ; ) I'd like to get feedback from you all to make this feature of PrestoPlace the best it can be.
