This problem presented itself when friends were complaining that they were being sent straight to voice mail a lot when trying to call my mother.  I did some troubleshooting and found that after the printers 6AM call the phone line would behave as if a a phone had been left off the hook.  Simply picking up a phone somewhere in the house and hanging it back up would clear the off hook condition.  What can be done to fix this?  My mother has phone service through the local cable company and they have been out to verify their equipment and the phone lines in the house are healthy.  Thank you.
