My Presto Mailbox is located in an assisted living facility with a shared phone system. To dial out you dial 9 followed by the number. The Mailbox worked for several months and then was unable to dial in. The problem appears to be that the 9,, dialing prefix causes a wait that results in an offhook signal from the phone system. Dialing that state is pointless. Is there a way to set the dialed number desired to include the 9 (e.g. 918667097978)? I cannot understand how it worked before as no changes to the phone system (that I can ascertain) have occurred.

you might try either putting in more pauses or no pauses after the 9 to ascertain the right delay for your phone system.  usually done with either ,,,,,,,,    or *******   great idea by the way that you put it in an assisted living place.  j

I will address this with you through a private message, pchamber77.

FYI, to jskalet, there is no way for a Presto user to put pauses into a dialing sequence because there is no computer involved. However, we at Presto can help with this. We will be contacting you.

The problem was resolved when a new machine was substituted. The automatic dialing sequences programmed into the Printing Mailbox seem to work just fine.
