Is there a way to temporarily suspend the service?  The user we set this up for has been hospitalized, and it will be some time before she will return to her apartment.  We didn't want to burn through her subscription when the service was not going to be used for a few months.

Thanks in advance...

My siblings and I are getting this mailbox printer for our Mom for Mother's Day, so this will be new for us. What about just unplugging the phone jack/electric cord when your mom isn't at home, eg vacation, hospitalization, etc. Then when back at home, plug back in. I suppose you might still get all the previously undelivered emails and there would be lots of them. But at least the machine wouldn't be running when no one is at home, reducing the worry of some electrical malfunction.
I realize this doesn't help with "using up" your subscription time, and it would certainly be nice to suspend it when necessary, just like you can with your newspaper subscription when you're going to be away from home awhile & they just tack on those unused days to extend the expiration date.

We haven't built the "vacation hold" feature into Presto yet. So for now, just unplug the machine while away, and plug back in upon return. Presto Mail from the past 7 days will be delivered, but over 7 days, the senders receive a bounceback message from Presto.

Actually, I called the Help/Support line, and they helpfully "disabled" the account, effectively stopping the clock on the service subscription. He told me that we could reinstate at any time, and resume the account with the time that currently remains on the subscription as of yesterday.

With regard to "unplugging", undelivered mail and content subscriptions would likely queue-up, and would burn-through ink & paper when reconnected, and that was not our preference.

I have since confirmed that eMail sent to our disabled/suspended account bounces-back to the sender.

While an on-line account management option to set a "vacation period" would be ideal, in the absence of that feature, this was a workable solution.

Thanks!
