kevin did you get this resolved? I hope so. Our family is considering presto for several older members and I can't afford to get involved with something that will cause me more grief. In our family they don't call customer service they call me.

Hi all,
After working well for a couple weeks, Mom's Presto stopped dialing out. She called customer service, and was instructed to push some buttons (I gather this was some type of reset) and was told that would take care of it. This turned out to not be the case, and the next day, the Presto printed out a page indicating the security code (provided on the page) needed to be re-entered before any mail would be downloaded.
This morning, I logged in and entered the code that mom dictated to me that was printed on the notice. I got a message indicating the code was successfully entered. Subsequently, the Presto failed to dial out at its scheduled 2pm and 7pm times, and when I attempt to re-enter the security code (which I have verifyed with mom is correct) I get a message that the code is incorrect.
I just had mom initiate a download by pressing and holding Stop and the volume up button twice, but nothing was downloaded. The presto account page still indicates the last call was yesterday at 7pm (yes, I refreshed it (: )
Mom does not have alot of patience with technology, the presto is supposed to be simple, and she's getting frustrated with it. Does anyone else have experience with this? Is it rare, or does it happen once a month. If she has to regularly start calling customer service, I fear she's just going to turn the thing off, and that would be a shame, because I think she really does enjoy it.
Hi all,
I should have posted a followup earlier. After a day or so, the presto seemed to work things out for itself and resumed normal operation. There have been no problems since. Mom was, I have since learned, having a bit of a rough spell, and her furstration was in part due to that. I would not let this one problem dissuade you from getting a presto. For the most part, it's been simple for mom you use. She even has no problem changing the ink cartridge

P.S. On an interesting note, mom has started sending me, by snail mail, of course, articles she gets from presto 'newsletters' that she thinks I would like to read. I just think there's something a bit skewed about that
