This is the first time I randomly ran into a blog entry about Presto...how about that...

Cool.  Thanks for sharing the blog.  I also recently saw a write-up on Presto in one of the magazines I read regularly (Business 2.0).

I keep seeing people comparing the Presto to a fax machine - this blogger did it too.  I don't really understand that comparison.  Yes, it prints messages and connects via a phoneline like a fax, but the fax analogy completely ignores that the SENDER merely needs to send an email, not mess with a fax machine on his end.  Not to mention how lousy a faxed photo would turn out...

no doubt...a fax print-out is usually virtually unreadable

Actually I totally see how it compares to a fax machine. In fact, I used that analogy when I was explaining it to my brothers and sisters. It is kind of like a fax machine that only receives email. The primary difference (and one of the few points in a fax machine's favor) is that a fax machine would receive it immediately, rather than only dialing up to check messages a few times a day.
