I just set up a Printing Mailbox in my father-in-law's apartment in a retirement home (Panorama City, Lacey, WA). If the phone stays off-hook for a long time a speaker in his apartment announces that he needs to hang up. Also the front desk watch person comes to check that he is ok.

This makes it impossible to have the Printing Mailbox figure out on its own that it needs to dial a 9, wait a 2 or 3 seconds and then dial the access point number.

Is there another way to tell the Printing Mailbox what it needs to do to get an outside line?
