Presto eliminates spam through the use of a "white list." The account manager (for example, "me"), is prompted to create a list of authorized senders (called Presto Friends) when I signed up for my mother-in-law's service. On her list, I put her five adult kids & spouses and 14 grandkids. Anyone who tries to send an email to her Presto-provided email address that is not on that list will be kicked back. It's pretty foolproof, actually.
Any, new names can be added to the white list by myself online, any time. Or by my mother-in-law by calling Presto's toll-free help line. What's also pretty fun, is that the HP Printing Mailbox prints out a sheet of "business cards" with her @presto address and a code. This allows my mother-in-law to hand her cards to friends who do have email, and through the use of the code, they can add themselves to the white list.
It's a great system for maximum security and flexibility.
