Seems that every time I post to the forums I am getting another spam from presto place with the intro message:   Exciting news from Presto.

 STOP IT.

What's confusing is that Presto Place didn't send that message. I think Presto did. Maybe you're on their list several times? Can you look at the sender of that e-mail and verify it's coming from PrestoPlace and not Presto Services, Inc?

As far as notifications from PrestoPlace goes... On the right, click "My Email Notifications", which is where you can change your notification preferences to any thread you're subscribed to. If you were subscribed to a discussion and no longer want to receive notifications for that discussion, uncheck the box and hit the update/go button at the bottom.

Just to be clear, other than one invitation to join PrestoPlace, Presto has not sent any "spam" to it's users. So I don't know what it is you are referring to. Budsboy, please can you send me a private message with one of those emails as an attachment (if plain text) or as a screen shot (if HTML)? I'd like to get to the bottom of this. No one likes spam, especially not us.

So, I checked on this and the "Exciting news from Presto" email you are referring to came from ME! As I mentioned in the post above, we sent out just one -- that's "1 qty." -- invitation email to Presto users with email addresses (not the people with an HP Printing Mailbox in their home, but everyone BUT them). We hate to send unwanted email to our users, but we couldn't think of any other way to make you all aware of the existence of the PrestoPlace community. The only way I could think that someone would receive more than one invitation would be if they appeared in our database more than once (such as having multiple emails listed in our system).

I ask for your forbearance on this issue since it is a) a one-time occurrence, b) the purpose is to provide a great benefit to Presto users, and c) there was really no other efficient way for us to accomplish this.

Thank you and I hope you all enjoy PrestoPlace.

Looks like it wasn't keyed to my posting to forums but just a new round of all the addresses listed on the friends list.   (2 personal and one yahoo group list)  I had recieved the original set on Oct 4 which is when I joined the forum and then this fresh round of the same message today.  (Hence it felt like spam to me.)

Here's  the header:

From: Presto Services Inc. <reply-8626@elabs7.com>
Date: Oct 9, 2007 9:10 AM
Subject: Exciting news from Presto!

I recieved this second round at each of my addresses on the presto list.

Never mind.  Looks like I only got one per email address except you hit my yahoogroups list which came as a second round to the shared addresses on that list.   You must have not sent the original invitatioin to all of the users on Oct 4 so the round this morning that include the mail list felt like spam.

Ooops.
