Oooh - a call for email button would be great! I know Presto wants to keep the system as easy to use as possible (with VERY few buttons), but it would be nice to allow these folks to check for mail when they're feeling lonely or when they know there is an email waiting for them, etc.

Recently purchased and connected a Presto for my parents and they are enjoying it.
They are Depression Babies both 80+ and they were not interested in using a computer, but Presto is working perfectly for them.
The family consists of 8 adult children and 14 grandkids (mostly young adults) plus all of the spouses, boyfriends, girlfriends etc, all of whom are widely spreadout within the US, all on-line. We are all trying to send at least one note a week to them via Presto....
The family utilizes Yahoo Groups to manage a family focused email list, originally established to communicate effectively during a serious illness that Mom went through. The mail list has morphed to a sharing and gathering planning forum. We are sharing birthday, prom and graduation pictures etc as well as everyone posts pictures of their Christmas trees, which is always fun. There are also Birthday and anniversary calendar reminders. With presto we have now added Mom and Dad to the mail list and they are now sharing in all this family news. Working fantastically!!!!!!
The longer term hope is that we will eventually move them to real email so that they could reply. (Hint hint to Presto to come up with a similar simple to use platform to allow reply without all of the claptrap of a real PC).
My only negative comment is it would have been nice to have an "in-use" light so they would know the phone is tied up.
The other would be a button to allow them to check email. I have it currently set to check at 11PM when they go to bed, so if there is a bunch of mail or pictures the phone isn't tied up during the day. But sometimes it would be nice to send them a picture and then call them and have them check for email rather than waiting until the next day.
Presto for me: Easing the transition to real email!!!!
Not a Presto or HP employee.
I agree. I know about the shortcut of Stop++, but there's no way anyone else there would remember to use it. It would be nice to have a call for email button.

The reason we didn't create this dedicated function was that we felt it would be viewed as the "nobody loves me" button. Just like checking the mailbox or email to find nothing waiting, we wanted to manage expectations around specific buttons on the machine. Easily, this issue can be argued one way or the other. I just wanted to expose our thinking during development of the product. I welcome comments on this because we can rethink this for future products.

I know it's not funny, but I'm sorry, I'm cracking up at your "nobody loves me" button. It certainly is true, I could see certain people sitting in front of that machine pressing the button every 30 seconds. Maybe now!!! ohhhh... Maybe now!!! ohhhh... Maybe now!!! ohhhh.... LOLROFL
I'd still like to see the button added, but I can see the drawbacks as well. Personally I think the advantage outweighs the disadvantage.
