TIP: Presto Styles

Did you know that people who send email to Presto owners can make them look as beautiful as a greeting card? All you have to do is include a special code in the subject line of your email (which doesn't print) and "Presto!" your email will be printed with a seasonal theme, or with birthday wishes, or as a calendar, etc. You can find all of these Presto Styles listed in the "styles" section of PrestoPlace. Or, just look at this cheat sheet presented below. Take note, to invoke a Presto Style, you must put the name of the style in brackets, like this: "[style name]", and, you must spell it exactly. What I do is print this style cheat sheet on a small card and I carry it in my wallet. Then, I can remember what to use when I send my Mother-in-Law Presto Mail from my email-enabled cell phone.

Styles are really fun - however they use a LOT of ink.  We bought the Presto for my mom in about June and she's used up two full cartridges with all the "mail" she receives from friends and relatives.  If the senders were using styles with the photos they send the ink would be used up much more quickly. . . and the cartridges are quite expensive.

True, the tradeoff is fun vs. ink. One suggestion, be sure to buy the HP 97 Tri-Color cartridge which is the best value in terms of pages per ml. (HP97 = $2.50 per milliliter vs. HP95 = $3.57 per milliliter). The amount of pages you get is mostly dependent on how many photos are sent, what Presto Styles are used, and how many Presto Newsstand subscriptions are active. In my case, I don't care how many cartridges my Mother-in-law goes through, just as long as she's well connected to her extended and geographically dispersed family.
